Press Release:

“During the process, the image Antonello works with is invisible and only starts to ‘come out’ as the oxidization of the textile occurs. This creates a dialogue between the movement of the past and its proximity to the present. The oxidizing agents of the liquids Antonello uses point to a scientific and precise study of removal and subtraction. . .”

this “object petit a” is not a tangible item, but a symbolic substitute representing our longing for the lost primordial wholeness. In Lacan’s theory, the sense of lack is central to human existence. This inner void and state of desire drive individuals to continually seek fulfillment—attempting to fill the inner gap—whether spiritually, materially, or emotionally. Confronting the inherent lack and desire in human nature is an essential step in the pursuit of wholeness.”
